24 Hour Volleyball Marathon Underway

24 Hour Volleyball Marathon Underway - Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 6:45PM EST

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Students from the University of Scranton are still in the middle of a 24-hour volleyball tournament right now. The event started at 2:00 Saturday afternoon. It will end at 2:00 Sunday afternoon.
The tournament is put together by the university's Physical Therapy Club. All of the money raised will support cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy research.

Meg Andregic said, “These are the people that we're gonna be treating after we graduate, so its important for us to get involved now, so we can help them down the line, later on."

Susie Saxon added, “It’s a good cause. It’s nice. It’ fun and we're raising money for good things."

This is the 27th year for the volleyball tournament in Scranton.
